If you're fed up of reading tweets, blog posts and Facebook updates from people bragging about all the amazing things they've been doing then try F-MyLife. It will make you feel a whole lot better about your own life.
F-MyLife is an iPhone client for the web site of the same name. The site allows people to post about all the terrible things that have just happened to them. All posts must start with the word 'Today', followed by a description of something embarrassing, humiliating, or downright sad. Stories range from tales of people being cheated on by their partners, to kids saying stuff they shouldn't in public. Each post ends with the acronym 'FML'. The last two letters stand for 'My Life', but no prizes for guessing what the 'F' signifies. Users of Fmylife can vote on each post to say whether they think the person was genuinely hard done-by, or if they had it coming and deserved it. The iPhone F-MyLife client is basically just a reader for the service, and doesn't allow you to post your own 'FMLs'. Despite this limitation, it makes for a great timewaster, and you're guaranteed not only a good laugh, but also that 'I'm glad it wasn't me' feeling.
F-MyLife is very well presented and the posts are clear to read. You can choose to view recent or top rated FMLs, or browse posts by category. These categories include Love, Money, Kids, Work and Health. Unfortunately, the juicy 'Sex' category hasn't been ported to the client from the actual Fmylife site.
One thing to note is that this current release of F-MyLife is very prone to crashing. Seemingly for no reason, you'll get booted out of the app while you're reading, which does get annoying.
It's worth persevering with, because F-MyLife is one of the funniest ways to waste time on your iPhone.
