Psst! is a simple application that lets you adjust or mute the volume of your Mac's startup chime or startup sound. Psst! When installed, simply double-click Psst! in Finder to adjust the volume settings. It's not quite as customizable as startupsound.prefpane , which allows you to instantly activate and deactivate the sound but its very similar. Its a little less sophisticated in that it automatically adjusts the volume settings just after shutting down or logging in.
