Namco's Pole Position is one of the all-time classic arcade racing game and now, like many old school favorites, it's been remade for the iPhone. Pole Position: Remix Lite
Pole Position: Remix Lite is billed as an enhanced version of the racer, optimized especially for the iPhone hardware. It uses a control system whereby you steer by tilting your device from side to side. The car automatically accelerates and to slow down you just need to hold down the on-screen brake pedal.
To be honest, I think Pole Position: Remix Lite is one of those 'classic' titles that should have been consigned for Pole Position: Remix Lite apk download to the annuls of history. Or at least remade properly. The graphics are patchy, the gameplay is boring, the collision detection is appalling and quite frankly I couldn't find any reason why I'd want to keep playing this one. Which is lucky, because this Lite version only gives you one measly track to play on, which takes about a minute and a half to get around.
Probably the only thing I liked about Pole Position: Remix Lite was the soundtrack, which boasts a variety of toe-tapping, adrenaline pumping tunes.
I'm afraid only those with a real obsession for Pole Position will get anything out of this racing game.
