CommaFeed is a free web-based RRS feed reader. An alternative to Google Reader, the application lets you import feeds manually or automatically. The application is available as a web-based services as well as an open source project where users can download the software and build their own RRS reader on RedHat’s OpenShift platform. A familiar interface means that users new to CommaFeed will find almost all of the same keyboard shortcuts as Google Reader, one of the market’s most popular and established RRS readers. You can filter and customise feeds, including marking unread and read items and sorting content by date. A search engine also lets you find relevant content, and you can easily subscribe to new feeds using the application. You can also share content on various social platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Although templates are not yet available, you are able to tailor the reader's look and feel if you are familiar with using CSS and HTML. CommaFeed is an excellent alternative to Google Reader and continues to improve. The RRS feed reader is flexible and offers a clear and simple interface.
