Welcome back to the era of old home computers when chip music was popular and apps had their name and version included in the title bar.

SidAMP is a music player which supports the SID format known from the Commodore 64/128 home computers.

It uses the High Voltage SID Collection as the main data resource. This means when the app is started for the first time a download of approx. 90mb is required for the complete archive and additional 500mb storage space is required for unpacking. Please don't delete or modify any of the text files from the archive; they are used constantly by the app.

SID emulation:
From the main menu you can choose between SID chips or use the auto detect function. Please note that 8580 emulation should be used in combination with Digi Boost which can be toggled from the player screen.

Playlists:
This feature is still under development. Currently one default playlist is used. Playlist options are placed in the main menu; you can add/remove songs (song must be loaded) or import a playlist from previous versions of SidAMP.

* READ EXTERNAL STORAGE for loading music from expansion cards (optional)

5 stars: Brilliant app, it looks and more importantly sounds fantastic. The last app I used was never updated so the fact this integrates with HVSC is perfect. My only tiny niggle is the interface can be tricky to use when using the search option due to the keys being small. Other than that I love it, maybe add the ability to use the android keyboard instead of the C64 looking one as an option?
3 stars: It's not bad at all, it just needs some tweaks. I'm not sure why most of the hsvc seems to be missing even though it downloaded it? The search is decent and you can use your own keyboard as the c64 search keyboard is a bit small! You can't scroll by swiping your finger up and down which is a shame as it would be faster to navigate! Great work and thanks!
3 stars: UI, filter profiles and song length DB support could be improved. Else it's a nifty player with
2 stars: Ouch. The interface looks good in screenshots but does not work well in use. Scrolling is unbearably fiddly. Search is useless (check the screenshot - it only shows you a few characters and is right justified). Using this on a phone is impossible! The hunt for a standard android SID player with a regular interface continues. 2 stars because it can at least play music.
