Part of your survival includes livestock farming, and yet the game has managed to avoid drawing attention to the nastier side of livestock farming to ensure the game is still child friendly. In Klondike, you are encouraged to build structures, farm, and explore for extra resources. In that sense, there is a fair amount for a casual gamer or a child to do without becoming bored, but it does get a little repetitive in the later stages of the game. The graphics and environment/character styling seems very cartoonish, though it is clear that the designers took a lot of time to ensure the game doesn't look cheap. If you are a hardcore gamer who loves the intricacy and micro-management of a strategy game, then this is not the game for you. The game is not complex and micromanaging has little effect on your success.
