The world is shrouded in a thick fog, known as the "Foundation Kingdom" that obscures all but the immediate surroundings of the player. After clearing a few trees, the player discovers an abandoned lumberjack's hut. He repairs it, and using the gold he has collected, hires a worker to help him cut down more trees. This worker provides the player with a steady stream of logs, which can be sold at the market for gold.
As the player continues to clear the fog, he comes across a farm overrun by monsters. After defeating them, he finds fields filled with nutritious carrots and cabbage. These resources provide the player with the sustenance he needs to continue on his journey.
