One of the most visually advanced browser games, Drakensang Online is immediately impressive as soon as the basic character creation section is completed. The Diablo-style top down view shows a world of detail not common for the genre including a variety of different areas, NPCs and other players. Beyond this strength, the game has a number of negatives which sour the entire experience. An overall lack of depth means repetitive fetch quests, limited character classes and a generally grinding approach to gameplay. The largest issue with Drakensang Online is the in-game currency which is used not just for purchasing new skills and items but to actually cast skills during combats. Drakensang Online is a great looking game that proves to be shallow once the surface is scratched.
