Backgammon - logic board games APK 1.5.1

4 stars: This BG implementation is done well. It also has a few quirky but interesting variations from the standard: 1. The Doubling option appears *after* the dice roll; 2. Automatic roll-off proceeds differently from the standard as well. (I don't know whether this is good or bad.)
4 stars: Easy app to deal with, not alot of extraneous b.s. but the algorithm does tend to deliver the exact roll the computer needs a bit too frequently. Overall, pretty enjoyable.
3 stars: Genuine 5 stars for game interface, really smooth, easy to use and quality graphics. One of the best I've seen for playing backgammon. 2 stars for AI algorithm with makes ludicrous mistakes, playing too safe even when risk is in favour of reward. Would have happily paid to go ad free, if the AI was more challenging but it is not. As a puzzle game it's good but not a challenge for novice backgammon players
2 stars: The game is fun for a while, but once you sit through a few dozen games where the computer 'magically' gets doubles after doubles to either bring them back into the game or to win in a tight match, its a bit of a bore. The algorithm is clearly in the computers favour.
2 stars: I enjoyed this at first, but later on it becomes painfully obvious that the digital opponent gets a few too many
