5 stars: Fun and easy to learn chess based game. I love that there are no ads, and the game can be played offline. Graphics are pretty simple and the gameplay can be repetitive, but as the difficulty increase the satisfaction of winning does as well. The different characters have very unique play styles, but unfortunately there are only 3 dungeons to play.
4 stars: This game is amazing, great concept and interesting mechanics. I have absolutely no complaints about the gameplay. Would gladly spend money on this game but it only offers two more dungeons. I understand creating new dungeons that aren't just copies of the first 3 takes time. But as long as the developer adds high quality gameplay consistently at a slow and steady pace, pawnbarian could easily be a 5.
4 stars: I really like this game! I have a couple issues: 1 - The anti-cantrip mechanics in the Golem Fortress seem to trigger unexpectedly. It often happens with the Nomad - I'll play a non-cantrip card and get hit by Spark Surge. 2 - The number of dungeons makes it feel a bit small. I think a lot of emphasis was adding diverse playstyles for the characters - which are all great! - but adding another dungeon or two would go a long way.
