3 stars: I really like this search engine, I've been using it for a couple years. Not loving this new update. I can't seem to get rid of any of my most frequent websites, so the scrolling becomes annoying. (Also the white text on white you can barely see). I was so use to the light mode, that the dark mode doesn't fit well. It needs a way to change to your preference.
5 stars: Worth a shot. I genuinely like this app. Besides the fact that they send 100% of the revenue to planting trees, the minimalistic and material design really speaks to me. I was delighted to find they had a search widget, which is something rarely found on browsers these days. I would hope for maybe a dark theme in later updates, but so far the experience is solid and very good. 10/10 would install again.
4 stars: By and large, I love this app. However, the search engine (I think it uses Bing?) really sucks. :/ If I want to actually find something quickly, I end up using Chrome/Google, particularly for local businesses and news, which obviously goes against half the point of using Ecosia. I would love it if you could let users choose their preferred search engine if possible!
5 stars: Would 100% recommend this to anyone who wants to do a small part to help climate change while just making searches. The functionality is only slightly behind Google but with the amount of resources they have it's not surprising, at the same time though the user experience is still great. The developers are very a
