BBC Sounds: Radio & Podcasts APK 2.7.0.16021

3 stars: I get why we're being forced onto the Sounds app, and to an extent I'm OK with that because the BBC is between a rock and a hard place. Also, it is actually encouraging me to check out new shows. However, for it not to be a frustrating experience certain basic features need adding - mainly auto download of subscriptions and auto delete of listened episodes. Not all of us are sat at home or in offices with constant access to WiFi.
3 stars: Not as good as the old BBC Sounds app. There is no longer the facility to set my favourite local radio station on the tuning dial, which is a step backwards. I now have to search for the station every time I want to listen. On the plus side, there is plenty of content, although not all of it is available for download, unfortunately. 4 stars: BBC radio app was easy to use and intuitive. I cannot say the same for Sounds. It is difficult to navigate and pot luck as to whether you end up where you want to go. Even this rating app is flakey. The whole experience is not BBC at all.. I have now used Sounds for a while, it is still not intuitive and need to be more user friendly. Multiple selected downloads would be useful.. still not as good a BBC iPlayer.
